    I'm trying!!

    Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 9:54 AM [General]

Once More I find myself lacking in keeping up to date with this bloody thing! Geh!!

I now have more regular internet access, so no worries there, and I will be able to keep a better update going here. Also, I am going to be getting more work done now, so more pictures and updates as to Cara Greenleaf Designs.

    So, where I'm at now.

I've started teh preparations of moving myself, a full apartment worth of stuffs, and two cats across town to where I can actually afford to live. That happens at the end of the month. I must admit, I'm kinda happy I'm forced to move around Christmas and New Years. That way I don't lose out on any Faires and such. I will be able to still attend all of my Festivals that are on the schedule!

Speaking of which, my Faire Schedule is starting to come together and my tentative first list of the year is looking like this:

    GARF
    Bristol
    TNRF
    KYHRF
    KCRF
    MDRF
    Great Lakes
    OHRF

Any suggestions for other Faires are welcome, as this only covers a couple of months worth of Festival. WHEE!

Other than the official first posting of my Festival list, there's not much else going on here except the new job at the pizza place and the new costuming that has been planned. All of those are sitting in piles right now with the sketches atop the fabric, but I have all winter to work! Somthing to keep me busy through the cold winter months.

    Fare thee all very well!

    4 months later

Has it really been four months since my last post? By the gods, it has! I find myself at a crossroads, preparing for a great big leap in some direction....just not sure which way I want to jump.

In just 3 short months, my apartment lease will be up and I will have the opportunity to move out of my little hell hole known as Carmel, IN and go somewhere else. There are several open options, none of which will necessarily be easy, as it wil mean leaving behind the friends here to follow business or other friends.

I could move to Kentucky, and do one of three things: join the cast, become a performer, or get a booth with my friend Gimli and become a vendor. All three ways would be awesome, my job transfers me, so I wouldn't need to really look for a job there, and if I do move down there, Gimli and I may get a house together for uber-cheap. But my friends in Ohio want me there....

I could move to Ohio, and do one of three things: join the cast, become a performer, or get a booth and become a vendor. But Gimli doesn't want to start our booth at Ohio, it's more expensive there, and the market is already established for other vendors. But I have many more friends in Ohio than I do in Kentucky and would be much closer to them. But at the same time, by moving to Kentucky, I would be closer to OHRF than I am here in Indiana.

Or I could really take a flying leap, hope that my friends in distant states still like me enough to follow through on their offers, and aim for California, New York or somewhere along the way.

But before any of those options happen, I have to get out of debt...I have to get all of my debts paid off and make certain that my checking account is in good condition, and make sure that everything is pointed in the right direction for all of these options to happen. Which first and foremost means that I need to find a job better than minimum wage. And make sure that I get enough hours to make the amount of money that I need....But still save time out for my clothing making and my jewelry making and my business. Otherwise that end will die on me.

Welcome to the best juggling act of the century, folks! Watch as she juggles two jobs, one business, a love life, her social life and her faire life...all while dangling on the precipice of crippling debt! Will she live? Will she fall to her death? Come watch the show!!

On a side note, old friends are reminding me they are still there, and a new love life is blossoming, despite my promise to myself to not bother with a relationship right now, seeing as I'm not in a good place for one, just too dem busy. This should be entertaining for everyone watching!!

    Cara:

Unfortunately, I missed you at this year's Fishers Renfaire. Perhaps at another time, we can finally meet one another. This year's affair was a lot of fun (if a bit chilly), and I'm anxious to participate again next year.

    Cheers,
